Week 64

These are my girls!!!

I GOT YOUR PACKAGE! Thanks soooooo much! I loooove seeing the little Peruvian faces when they eat the warheads! But the mints..those are just for me haha!

Its really not that cold here! Seriously don't  worry ;)

This week was amazing...ly......stressful haha. But so uplifting. We had the leaders meeting in Lima #20hoursinabus. I read and participated with out wanting to die. I mainly just love going for 2 reasons. #1 I get to receive so much doctrine and revelation and listen to President Douglas talk. ( I will talk about what I learned later) #2 I get to see girls from my group! I love these sisters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so lucky. I really feel that one of the many reasons I came here was to also meet these people and be connected with them for the rest of my life. We are so blessed. God knows why and he definitely placed us all here for a reason.
The sister leader council

I love my companion She  is soooo funny and her Spanish...getting there. I love having an American compie. It is so much more enjoyable for us....for the works....maybe haha.

President also got to come here to Ayacucho and do a training for the Area. I was soooooo nervous the day before when they called and asked if I could train the other missionaries with the president. I did a 20 min training on Personal Revelation. Hard because that means that to teach it I actually have to receive personal revelation haha. I was sooooooooooooo nervous! I stayed up so late preparing it. But as I gave it....it was good :) President said "Your lesson this week was very good. I felt the Spirit strongly. You were bold, direct and spoke with power. Thank you for being an EXCELLENT Sister Missionary. We love you!"

I hope they release me as a sister leader haha. It's someone elses time. Or maybe I'll finish out strong and stressed haha.

I want to tell you all I learned, but I can't!

Here are some points:
-What does the Atonement teach us, about faith?
-Drink your cup. Suffer with confidence.
-Why does the Fall have such an important role in the Atonement?
-Using the Book Of Mormon as a fount of repentance.
-I cried and I really have come to understand even more about the Atonement this week! Read these talks!

TEMPLES TEMPLES TEMPLES: I need to have more time! I will prepare something for next week in advance ok? Just meditate on those things for now, till next week.

Week 63

I am having a great week. This is the work of The Almighty God and I am part of it. I am so honored and I am so privileged to be here. I have learned so many things and I have so much more to learn. Doing interchanges with the other hermanas every week really helps my faith grow and I am so thankful for this calling I have as sister leader. I know it will be a blessing and I know that it will be a strength  to me in my future with other callings I have.

I know how to teach, I know how to bring people  to Christ and Now it's time to do ALLLLLL I can in this time I have to bring as many as I can.

I love these people we have such a good group of investigators right now. They are chosen and they are so amazing. The work is flying and the joy is so prevalent in everyday I am here. A joy that cannot be described. There are hard times ( like throwing  up 5 times today- #Funday Sunday Food Poisoning) But this is sooooooooooo worth it. I wish I could write to you to express my feelings but I literally can't.

One of the investigators that we are going to baptize and marry this next month has asked me to be their Witness in their Marraige. I alsmost started crying. I love them so much. Too Much its going to hurt so bad to leave. Their names are Josue and Esefany. I will send a pic.

I am in a great ward!

One of our investigators only wants to get baptized in a river.....we will see how that goes. I would love to have a baptism in a river!

I'm out of time, but I love you all!

Week 62

I love the pictures. My mom is a babe!!!!!!!! And my baby is so cute toooooo! I love how in the video you called her Shelby haha. I have 9 mins to write so let's see how it goes....

I really can't even think about school right now? What do we need to do? I think it's for spring semester or is it for winter? I want to live with D Rose -only requirement. I also think you should just talk to D Roses mom or something. I want to live on the lower side of campus - like where I lived before mas o menos. uhhhhhh and classes when do I need to sign up for that?

So this week was great as always. We have had some great experiences and learned a lot. We are basically working alone because our mission leader isn't very helpful, but we are doing it oursleves until he can get back on track - so pray for him.

Our area is so poor! We hiked up and up and the higher you go the poorer it gets. The only question we have is -How does God decided where to send His children and who to give the gospel to? It's just not fair. But God is guiding us to those chosen children who in the world before, were destined for great things. I just need to find them.

Week 61

Alex I want to hear about your experience at efy! Email me. Also I love that quote from the email of Jelli. I'm so going to email here right meow.  I looooooooooooooove the videos of Abby! I had a dream that I was holding Abby on my lap and making a video to send to Adam I think it was dejavu! I think about it aND I'M HAPPY TO SEE ABBS BUT THEN I START TO CRY BECAUSE I CAN'T COME HOME YET! EVER! HAHA. I'M DRAMATIC. (opps i didnt mean to put that in caps)

Maddawg thanks for the letter from girls camp! I love you!

This week was great I seriously love my new comp and it's just hard because we get harrassed a little bit more. But we really have the challange of talking in Spanish because she is new. It's soo hard!  We are closer to the marriage of our cute couple. I just am loving this. It's so rewarding and I have learned ( probably too late on in my mission) that itdoesn't  matter what happends, you can't get discouraged. I'm at the point that it doesn't matter what happens, I'm just faithing on. We are really focusing in on the families and we have a good flow going on with contacting all the families on the street. Seriously we are just waiting in faith. But more than waiting it's doing all we can, contacting and just getting closer and closer to the family that I know God is preparing for us. They are out there! I know He is going to lead us to them, but we just have to keep going. I know it's going to happen. I have the faith that.it.is.going.to.happen. I'll let you know when it does.

I love you guys and I love this work. The most important work that someone can be commissioned to do.

Week 60

HANNAH IS GOING ON A MISSION! I'm so happy I almost peed my pants! Someone give me her email! Cameron...you're stupid. Alex I feel that Grandma Dorothy is really involved in all of our lives and I really felt the spirit just reading about your experience at EFY.

TRANSFERS! Thank goodness haha JK It really wasn't that bad! But I'm glad to say the least. I learned alot from sister  Alvrez like how to love and how to be a better companion and leader. I have ANOTHER white compie! Why does God give me all the gringas? I really don't know why but I bet there is some reason. So we will see. Spanish is going to be sooooo hard because she is newish. But we already get along really well. I just hate how everyone looks at us ont the street. Like look 2 rich white girls that don't  know anything. It's great.

We have had some experiences this last week at thave made me reaaaaaallllly recognize the holy ghost guiding us. We have a new invest that just jumped to the creepy level. But I will also say I've never met anyone smarter than him. Its such a different teaching experience teaching him. His name is Roque and he could either be the next prophet or the next tyrant. We will see but we are going to give him over to the elders this week. Can't be too careful with these ones.
I AM TBE OPPOSITE OF TRUNKIE RIGHT NOW. I WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS TIME..TO THE MAX!

We had a baptism of this cute little girl. All her fam are members. She is the best!

 I need new shoes. Haha

Adam I found the same car in Peru

Week 59

This is Zonia - twin of Karen Quist

Today is the last pday before changes so we are all going to eat as a zone and I am going to print out a ton of pics. And the power keeps going out here.... peru:/ ahah jk i love it.

Want stories -ok I'll give you some.

I almost died this week when we were eating fish in the house of a member and I got one of the bones stuck in my throat. I just looked at my comp, like what do I do? Then I asked them all what to do and they all laughed and then realized I was really dying, so they told me to eat some potato and it saved me. Also I found a live larve in my fish. Best. Dinner. Ever.

I know Spanish, but sometimes it's still hard to understand everything. For example we were passing by the house of our 26 year old investigator and his mom was up on their roof and I was like "hey we are gouing to take your son to church tomorrow" and she says somthing I don't understand and I just give her a thumbs up and say "yeah! see you later." Welp my comp understood and apparently she was like "only if you take him hand in hand to the alter first.".......awkaward. They really make fun of me alot i think, but I just don't catch on.

I made a bet with Sister Moir when we got in a taxi -that in the 5 min taxi drive if the driver accepts a baptism date I will give her 5 soles. Welp he accepted....enserio! haha I think it's because she is white and blonde. Then yesterday I did the same with Sister Jamsenson thinking no way it's gunna happen twice..........uh oh. 10 soles later ...I'm poor. hahah Anyway I think it's just a really good motivation and now we have two more people in the world with a baptism date! Go me. It's actually not that hard. This is how you gotta do it. ¨Have you ever heard that nothing impure can enter into the kingdom of god?" "yes"...."well how can we be clean?.....baptism".... bam! That's all you gotta do!

But seriously this week has been the worst and the best. Worst because there was some drama with my comp and another sister in the zone and I had to fix it all. But it was also great because we resuced one person and had 5 investigators in church and we have 5 progressing with a baptism date! whatttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????? We put 3 new dates yesterday! We also had 13 lessons with memebers this week!  It was a really high week. We have 2 investigators that are going to get married and then baptized this next month. They are in the pic. She is the tall black one!

We had a menos activo member that was worried because she had a wedding with her family this week and they always try to make her drink and she syas she isn't strong enough. But miracle haha she got really really sick and couldn't drink anyway! She is (and I am too) way convinced it was a blessing from God and she used it as a real growing experience. >God works in mysterious ways!

Have you guys ever eaten sugar cane? try it its the best.

Abby I looooove her. I don't know but it just seems like that was me when I was little

I love you guys and we will see how cambios go this week!!!!!!!!!

Week 58

Yay I'm so excited that you can come pick me up! It's going to come too soon! Abby is soooooooo cute!

It's hard to have a focused and successful week when the companionship isn't too united. I tried to have a talk about some problems this week but every time I do she just shuts off. Its making me look forward to changes. We will see. But we actually had a more successful week this week. We had 9 nuevos and we had another accept a baptism date! Also this family we are trying to marry came to chruch and they are so set on baptism! It's all
about the families here!

Guess what I get to do this week. Be in a bus for 40 hours! I have to go to
Lima 2 this week so I will travel 4 times in a 10 hour bus trip. Why is more than half my mission traveling? hahah It's ok I can catch up on my sleep and try not to barf. Good news I get to go with Sister Jamenson and talk about American things the whole time.

Our ward mission Leader burned us this week. I was kinda not ok with itbecause
He doesn't do anything for us! jaja It means we just have to find a way to just love him and train him so he knows his duty and knows what the work is all about. But he also bought an iphone and rubbed it in my face haha. #imisstech

Good week. Good people here. The leaders are great (sometimes) and I feel
so blessed to be serving. And I'm so happy to hear about all of you serving
missions too.

Here are some sweet pics
