Week 40

Just a couple of kids in Zarahelma
Craziness!

So as a sister leader I have to go to interchanges with all the sisters. We went to Ica then had a multi zone conference with Pres Douglas and got all inspired then left and now I have to go to Lima this next week AGAIN! There is another meeting for the leaders...it's just like 9 hours away -no big deal in a crowded gross hot bus. Lo MAXIMO!

I have been travleing like a mad woman! So that takes alot of time out of the week and it's hard to reach our goals....but guess what! We are now able toconcentrate on the work and this week was AWESOME!  So we left the multizona Friday and got home late at night with 0 new investigaters for the week. The goal is 7....crap... hahah. So with alot of faith and dedication, we set the goal to find 6 Saturday and Sunday.  We would fill in what we couldn't get for all our other goals. Yes or Yes. Well we worked like mad women and in 2 days we got 6 new investigators. This is done through talking to  EVERYONE and trusting in the Lord! We didn't get our goal of 7, but hey I feel good! Really good! We did everything a missionary could do this week. WHooooo! I'm pumped for this work! Also we have another baptism this Saturday!

Sometimes all the water in Nasca runs out because its so dang hot here and we can't shower...that's fun. But guess what somehow some stupid chicos can find water and play some more water games with us in the street. I was SO wet haha and I might have yelled mean words at them (but  I've repented). But yeah it waaaaas a nice replacement for my shower hahha.

So I HAVE 9 MOTNHS! HALF WAY DONE! I cannot believe it! NOOOO too fast! But all the sisters take a 9 month picture like they have their mission baby! So here's mine!

Also we went to this place called CAhuachi....Or should I say Zarahemla. Seriously. This very well could be the Nephite city Zarahemla. Our pres went and said he felt the spirit so strong and that might be Zarahelma. So wow!

This is a pic of Peru in one of the hours and hours of hours I was traveling this week.

I died in the desert! We had no water and there was nothing for miiiiiiles. Hey from the spirit world!

I love you guys! I had a cute dream about Abby and I got to hold her! I can 't wait!

Hermana Quist!

Week 39

Hola!  There are 6 sister leaders in the mission, so it's not a big deal ahah. I am over the 3 areas most south in our mission. I hope I live up to what the standard is. It's really hard sometimes. These weeks we have been trying so hard but we have had to decide to leave some of our investigators because they just aren't progressing. But you know that I have done all I could.  I taught the doctrine with clarity and my hands are clean. I'm just sad. But it's ok! We are promised that through the Holy Ghost we will be given what to say in hostile venues and won't be confounded before men. And that is so true. We have people yelling at us and I am just calm and ask questions that are so inspired and confound them, pues!

So Alexis was baptized! He almost wasn't because the day of his service everything was going wrong and I found him in the baptismal font feeling a little agitated.  He was upset about some negativity from others and a kid that was teasing him. We talked about canceling  the baptism but I'm glad we didn't because after he was baptized we all just felt that it was the right decision. He gave the cutest testimony afterward and all my stress finally melted away. Baptisms sometimes stress me out because is so much opposition at times.  Almost like the devil is try to stop it because he knows that the baptism is what God wants.

They also play this game here called carnivales, like games with water balloons and water and they love to play with us....just without our permission. I got pretty irritated this week when we got soaked again. Really I had to repent for my madness. This week there was also a naked crazy lady in the street. And ALOT of drunk people harassing us as usual. I LOVE NASCA. But really I do!

I loved reading Adams letter I was laughing out loud! I am so happy for him! I love you all!

Week 38

I feel very happy to hear about all these blessings of Adam going on his mission and Abby being blessed and how happy my whole family is! I can't wait to hear Adams first email.

So the big news this week is that I am the new Sister Leader. WHAAAAT? So like I said last week I was invited to go to Lima for the Leader Meeting but I was just invited to go with another leader but when we are in the middle of the meeting Pres. Douglas stops, points at me and says "Hermana Quist"....."yes?" ( with fear)....."You are the new Sister leader" WHAT! So we are all shocked. The assistants didn't even know and we had to make all these changes. Sister Leader isn't that big of a job. There are about 40 sisters and we are incharge  of interchanges with them to make sure they be doing their stuff right. I'll lay down the law all right. Haha! IMAGINE THAT.

So Nasca is awesome and we have 3 more baptisms scheduled for this month! Whooop! Right now it's all about training the Ward Leaders so that they can be converted to the Work of Salvation! They are trying so hard, but they need a little bit of a push. Or  just me calling them every single day. I bet they are all annoyed with us.

I had to give ANOTHER talk! I gave it on the trinity. I didnt really have a testimony of the trinity before but this last meeting with President I learned SO much! I don't know how he does it! But now I have a new fav scripture. 3 Nephi11:11!!!!!!!!! And John 17!!!!!!! When we submit to the will of the Father, we will be one with him and when we are one, we are saved. They are one and the have such unity and my goal is to leave the house everyday in complete unity too and do nothing but thier will.

These are the Nasca lines! World Famous! So cool Peru!

Also this is Alexis he IS my favorite kid ever. He is getting baptized!

(At first you might think this is Shelby being comforted by her companion but if you look closer, it is really Shelby giving one of her famous skin drawings)

Week 37

Adam is leaving for the MTC. I cant believe it! He is sooooooo grown up! I am so happy for him! I can't wait to write him as a missionary! Did you guys take Abby with you on the trip? That's crazy! Welp I don't have too much to say. We just emailed it feels like haha. Big news -WE HAD AN EARTHQUAKE! Well that might be an exaggeration because it was super short, but I was so scared! haha We were sleeping and Ii just got up and ran suuuuper fast to the door then idk what else to do so we just stayed there until it passed. Haha it was great.

Look I'm famous! I'm in this! You can see me for like 2 secs! I'm in orange! yeeee.  http://www.lds.org/prophets-and-apostles/unto-all-the-world/the-gospel-in-peru?cid=HPTH122613277&im=true&lang=eng

So I'm a major sleep talker now. I teach full on lessons in my sleep. I commit people to pray and everything haha. My companion says the other night I was like ( in spanish of course)  " Will you read this chapter and pray to know if the Book of Mormon is true?" She just said yes and then I promised her blessings ahahah!

So this guy we are trying to teach says to us the other day  " yeah so afterwards we can go get some ice cream and show you guys around Nasca!"......mmmmm nope hahah
Next time he says-
" Oh do you like music electronica? Well there is this party on Saturday, we should go!".....mmmm nope hahaha
Then-
" Well we do training in martial arts so we can train together then you can teach your lesson".....mmmm NOPE

My companions response - " Great so were going to have a lesson with 8 men that know martial arts...perfect" hahaha

Its still so hot here. Seriously is sooooo hott! Hermana Holbrook my companion in the MTC was serving here here in Nasca and we were loving it but she left this transfer! I am verrry sad. But its alright. :) I didn't think I could love my zone more than mine in Lima but this zone is sooooo great, I'm basically best friends with my leaders it's so great!

In other news I get to go to Lima ( 8 hours away) For 2 days for the training for the leaders! Yep I'm invited to be with the leaders! There aren't alot of hermanas that have been out as long as I have, so they had to settle for me ahahah! But I'm super nervous because the leaders all intimidate me and I hate public speaking but hey God loves me. I'll tell you how it goes.

Here is a pic of my room and the veiw from it. We live in a niiiice area :) Nasca is so great. Just hott.
